Client Spotlight: Bettie Bearden Pardee of Private Newport
Celebrating the incredible women that we have the opportunity to style every day is one of the things we cherish the most at Gramercy Atelier, for creating unique, one of a kind bespoke pieces for our clients is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why this year, we’re excited to roll out our first ever client spotlight series where we get to celebrate the highly influential women that we are fortunate enough to call our customers and the pieces we’ve made for them.
First, we have the privilege of introducing Bettie Bearden Pardee, author, lecturer, garden connoisseur, and entrepreneur who came to us as she was working on quite the exciting new business venture. As someone who has had a strong eye for design throughout her life and has quite a busy schedule, Bettie said that she was delighted that she was able to come to Gramercy Atelier as her travel schedule hadn’t allowed for her to even think about an outfit she needed for an exciting project.
While working with Bettie Pardee, we had the opportunity to hear more about her passions and new business ventures. During our conversation we learned that she needed a piece made for her to wear in an upcoming video shoot. This video shoot was for the new campaign launch of her beloved Parterre Bench– a stunning bench made to capture the essence of Bettie’s home of Newport, Rhode Island and its beautiful accents.
As we worked with Bettie to understand more about the piece she wished to have made, she mentioned that the “Charleston Jacket has always been my first choice among Gramercy’s styles. I find myself returning to it as it interprets so well with both prints and solids.” From there our Creative Director Maria, went to pull patterns and fabrics that accentuated the beautiful green of the Parterre Bench. It’s so important to us to create pieces that make our customers feel joyful, and go with whatever you are working on!
Bettie has always said that, “fashion is all about feeling good in an outfit, kicking up the collar, putting on some lipstick and heading out to the party! Fashion should be fun.” This mindset is exactly what considered while creating her piece.
When crafting garments for our clients, we constantly gain inspiration from the projects our clients are working on. And with the launch of the new Parterre Bench, it was the perfect chance to use one of our most beloved green fabrics to craft Bettie’s Charleston Jacket.
“Seeing my clients in pieces I’ve made for them brings me such joy” Maria says, “and creating this jacket to help celebrate the style of Bettie and her terrific milestone as she launches her new campaign for her Parterre Bench was such a wonderful moment!”
